Raymond Pecoraro has dedicated more than three decades to serving workers, advocating for union members, and strengthening labor representation throughout the UAW. Since beginning his career at Stellantis in 1994, he has built a reputation for leadership, commitment, and standing alongside members to address workplace issues and strengthen the union movement.
Through years of service and leadership within UAW Local 1264, Raymond has represented members at multiple levels while gaining extensive experience in contract enforcement, grievance handling, workforce advocacy, and organizational leadership.
A Record of Service
Early in his service, Raymond served on the UAW Local 1264 Veteran’s Committee from 2000 through 2006, helping support veteran initiatives and member engagement. He also served on the Local 1264 Entertainment Committee, contributing to activities that strengthened member involvement and solidarity within the local.
From 2005 through 2008, Raymond served as the UAW Local 1264 Non-Production Chief Steward, where he was responsible for overseeing two divisions and ten departments while representing more than 250 members. In this role, he worked directly with members to address workplace concerns, resolve issues, and ensure fair representation.
The Path Forward
In 2008, Raymond advanced into the role of Non-Production Committeeperson, where he served two terms representing more than 700 members at UAW Local 1264. His leadership responsibilities continued to grow as he later served three terms as Shop Chairperson, representing approximately 2,000 members and providing leadership on matters involving workplace representation, contract enforcement, and member advocacy.
In addition to his union leadership responsibilities, Raymond also served as Co-Lead of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Logistics Pillar at Sterling Stamping Plant, where he supported operational improvements and workforce initiatives.
Today, Raymond continues to bring decades of experience and leadership to UAW Region 1 as Assistant Director, remaining focused on supporting members, strengthening local unions, and advancing the mission of the UAW.
